About Invisalign

My name is Alexa Young

Clear aligner treatment, such as Invisalign and Spark, is a popular treatment that has been used by orthodontists and dentists for over 20 years. The treatment uses custom-made clear aligners to gradually shift teeth into their desired position.

Invisalign and Spark are great options for anyone looking to straighten their teeth without the appearance of traditional metal braces.

One of the main advantages of clear aligners, such as Invisalign and Spark, is its discretion. The aligners are made from a clear, medical-grade plastic that is virtually invisible when worn. This makes them a popular choice for adults and older teens who may feel self-conscious about wearing traditional metal braces.

The aligners are also removable, which means that you can take them out to eat, brush your teeth, and clean them. This means that you can continue to eat your favourite foods and maintain good oral hygiene during the treatment process.

Invisalign and Spark uses 3D imaging technology to create a digital model of a patient's teeth, which allows for a precise fit and accurate treatment planning. The treatment usually takes about 12 to 18 months to complete, and the aligners need to be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. The treatment process is also more efficient, as you will need fewer office visits compared to traditional braces.

Clear aligners are a comfortable option compared to traditional braces. The aligners are custom-made to fit each patient's teeth, which means that they will fit snugly and will not cause the discomfort and irritation that traditional braces can.

Frequently asked questions

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a treatment that utilises removable, clear aligners to improve your smile. Just like braces, Invisalign® is designed to reshape your smile overtime to make your teeth straighter. But unlike braces, Invisalign® is nearly invisible. Invisalign® aligners are almost seamless and provide the convenience of being able to remove them to eat and brush.

What are the benefits of Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a common procedure among youth and adults who are self-conscious about their smile. The end result is almost always an improved smile and increased confidence. The particular highlight of this treatment is that it does not involve any metallic brackets or wires. The clear plastic material is virtually unseen when wearing this system. Meanwhile the revolutionary technology built into the aligners allows for effective and safe tooth movement. Invisalign® is often the perfect solution where this treatment has been deemed right for you.

The Invisalign® Process:

- The dentists at Premier Dental Group, Roxburgh park, will begin by conducting a free assessment of your teeth, smile and jaws to establish if Invisalign® is right for you.

- You will have the chance to see an online digital copy of your teeth and watch a simulation of how we expect your teeth to move through out your Invisalign® journey. In this way you can visualise the end result before committing.

- Once you start wearing your Invisalign® aligners, your dentist will check your progress every 6 weeks to make sure the process is going according to plan.

Your role:

- You will need to wear your Invisalign® aligners 22 hours a day, allowing you plenty of time to leave them out for meals and cleaning your teeth. Thankfully the aligners are thin, flexible and comfortable.

- You will need to brush the aligners twice a day, as you would your teeth.

- You will need to visit your dentist in Roxburgh Park every 6 weeks for a short review to make sure your are tracking perfectly.
